In most supermarkets, refrigerated items represent more than 45% of the items sold, making refrigeration systems a mission critical technology. However, these systems are complex and expensive to purchase and operate.

At Source, our goal is to partner with you to bring the total cost of ownership for your refrigeration and HVAC systems down to the lowest possible level. That is why we recommend managing each asset.

Refrigeration & HVAC systems have multiple components; many are fixed capital (refrigeration cases) and some are disposable (filters). The best way to track total cost of ownership for these systems is to track costs based on the asset.

For new installations and remodels, we propose adding asset tags during the install itself. We provide you with a store map that shows the location of all assets as part of our Right Start Program. In addition to simplifying asset management, setting up the system at the time of installation improves the ability to effectively manage the warranty period.

While its best to initiate asset tracking at the time of installation, we also recommend adding asset tags to existing stores so you can begin to track cost/asset in each store and across stores.

Every time we service a piece of equipment, whether for preventative maintenance or for a specific service call, we use the asset tag to identify the work done. This allows us to track issues by equipment. We can also look across multiple stores to see if this is a common or repetitive failure and provide you with information on what is working best in your stores.
